steam boiler 21 or 22 bar

  • In Figure 3.22.14, the boiler is steaming at its normal design pressure, for example 10 bar, and the steam passes to variable loads which require not more than, for example 5 bar. Pressure reducing valve A is reducing pressure between the boiler header and the distribution main in the plant, responding to the pressure sensed in the 5 bar line.

  • Most modern boilers will work at their best, when the system is set to 1.3 bar. Some engineers will suggest 1.5 bar, and that’s because it’s easier to remember. In terms of fixing the F22 fault code on your Vaillant boiler, you’ll need to get pressure above 0.6 bar. So, setting the pressure to the optimum of 1.3 bar will be more than enough.

  • In low/medium pressure boilers (<100 bar) entrained boiler water is the most common cause of steam contamination. Both mechanical factors such as boiler design, high water levels, load characteristics and chemical factors such as high solids concentration, excessive alkalinity, presence of contaminants contribute to the creation of carryover.
